The Windows 11 KB5053598 update for Windows 11 24H2 is causing major issues for users, including installation failures, Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) disconnects, and Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) errors. Many users report the update getting stuck at various percentages, failing with error codes like 0x800f0993, 0x800F081F, and 0xC004F211, or causing an endless install-revert loop.
Additionally, RDP connections are unstable, frequently disconnecting within minutes after applying the update. In more severe cases, users experience system crashes, boot failures, and SSD detection issues, making some PCs unbootable.
While Microsoft has yet to provide an official fix, users have found temporary workarounds, such as uninstalling the update, disabling UDP for RDP, or modifying registry settings. Until a patch is released, affected users are advised to delay or remove KB5053598.
